Cookie Policy
Technologies used by the Website, their purposes and the choices available to you.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored in a browser by a website. Similar technologies include local storage, pixels, tags and online identifiers. They can enable essential operation, remember a choice, measure use or support advertising.
Necessary technologies may be used without consent when required to transmit a communication or provide a service explicitly requested by the visitor. An appropriate choice is requested before optional analytics, advertising or similar technologies are activated where required.
2. Who manages consent choices
PERONEUS d.o.o. operates the Website. The Website uses Google’s certified Consent Management Platform (CMP) to display European privacy messages, record IAB TCF choices and communicate appropriate consent signals to advertising partners.
The CMP settings display the current list of vendors, processing purposes and detailed controls. That live list is more authoritative than a static list because providers and technologies may change.
3. Necessary technologies
Necessary technologies support security, load balancing, page delivery, form protection, administrative login and storage of privacy choices. They are not used for personalized advertising. Blocking all of them in a browser may prevent parts of the Website from working.
4. Analytics technologies
Where permitted by the applicable consent choice, analytics services may process pages viewed, visit duration, approximate location, device type, referral source and interactions to understand Website use and improve content. Google tags receive the configured consent signals.
Peroneus Analytics uses the peroneus_analytics_sesija identifier in sessionStorage rather than setting its own cookie. If its optional GeoIP fallback is enabled, an IP address is sent to ipwho.is over HTTPS to determine an approximate country, region and city; the Website does not retain the original IP address, coordinates or postal code in the analytics database.
5. Advertising and marketing
The Website uses Google AdSense. Depending on your choice, Google and selected advertising partners may use information for ad selection, delivery and measurement, fraud prevention, frequency capping and personalization. Personalized advertising storage remains denied without the required consent.
The current list of vendors, purposes and legal bases is available in the CMP settings. Google explains its use of information from partner sites in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
6. Embedded content and social media
An article may contain a video, social-media post or other third-party content. The provider may place its own identifiers when allowed by your choice or when you explicitly activate the content. The provider’s terms and privacy notice then apply.
7. Categories and examples
| Category | Examples | Purpose | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Necessary | WordPress security and session cookies; security identifiers; TCF/CMP choice record | Security, login, operation and remembering choices | Session to a maximum of 13 months, depending on purpose |
| Analytics | peroneus_analytics_sesija in sessionStorage; _ga, _ga_* and related Google Analytics identifiers where enabled | Usage statistics and Website improvement | Peroneus Analytics identifier until the tab closes; other identifiers from a session to a maximum of 2 years, depending on configuration |
| Advertising | __gads, __gpi, IDE, test_cookie and related advertising identifiers | Ad delivery, measurement, security and, with consent, personalization | From minutes to a maximum of 13 months, depending on provider |
| Functional and embedded content | Video and social-platform identifiers after activation | Displaying and remembering settings for the embedded service | According to the provider’s notice |
Names and durations can change when a provider updates a service. The CMP settings show the current vendors and purposes, and this policy should be reviewed against the Website’s actual configuration.
8. Changing or withdrawing a choice
You may refuse, grant or withdraw consent without losing access to basic Website content. Withdrawing consent is as easy as granting it: open the settings, change your choice and save it. The change applies to future processing; previously stored cookies may also be deleted in your browser.
9. Browser controls
Most browsers allow you to review, block and delete cookies. Blocking every cookie may affect login, security and other features. Instructions are available in the help section of the browser you use.
10. Changes to this policy
This policy is updated when technologies, providers or applicable rules change. The current effective date and version appear at the top of the document.
